You should configure 802.11g wireless and Bluetooth, a 12 cell battery, and a 5400RPM HD (unless you plan on swapping in your own later).

As to worth, I'd compare it against the Acer Travelmate 4400 and MSI MS-1029 and pick whichever you like best.

You can get it for less on HP.com. Plus as noted you can configure it on HP.com.

Huh, weird for it to have a whopping 2 gigs of ram but only a 40 gig hard drive.

Is this from HP? Always be careful when buying from an individual (though, of course, be wary of corporations for other reasons).

Someone else might be able to comment more authoritatively, but the higher-end items (the processor, video card, and RAM) seem unlikely to be found with a 40 GB hard drive in most cases, unless the person who configured it had fairly unusual needs at purchase time. I would want to be sure about all of those specs.

If you feel comortable upgrading to a larger, faster hard drive and are OK without a warranty, that's a pretty good deal.

    Best,
    Howie

Thank you for the quick replies and good advice!

This sounds like a fair a deal from HPShopping.com (no tax/free shipping) The 40GB HD was a turn off but everything is good. I can always upgrade it on my own and already picked out it's replacement (see below). Yes we already have a Linksys wireless router and Notebook card from my previous laptop the HP ZE5501US purchased 12/02 which I just sold for $400.00 last week.
