I have the Compaq V2000. I think its V2565US or something like that I have Phoenix BIOS and I cant figure how to get it to boot from a bootable USB Flash Drive.
Would updating the BIOS help? I was trying to find on the HP site but couldnt find answer.

In my bios I dont see usb storage. I see floppy, cd, hard drive and I think network
would this be the bios?

Looks like the one. If you do not get a USB boot option then you have to make your USB device bootable. There is guide and software by HP for this. Choose Floppy boot for this to work. Basically you will turn your USB key or whatever into a floppy. HP could update the BIOS easily enough but won't, doesn't make good business sense to them.

thanks... i have bootable usb cards that i can boot into using other laptops
i think it might be a special option under hard drive hidden - ive searched the bios.... i will try the update then try again
