I just purchased the DVT7-6143CL i7, 750, 8g and attempted to transfer files from my old computer via my home network. Estimated time 36 hours for 172g. It's about 70% complete now and I decide that i want to remove the bloatware via info on this forum, but do not want to do the "easy file tranfer " again. What is the preferred method as this can not be the preferred method. An alternative calls for a special "file transfer" cable, which looks like a male to male USB cable to me. Is ti really special? And how long will the process take via USB v. the home network?

    Thanks,

    Rich

A possible method could be to copy all your files onto a USB hard drive.

On your home network, were you copying files over a wireless or wired network?
