The stock drivers generally do not have some advanced features and some features are deliberately disabled for safety purposes(like the ability to OC). The Omega drivers are also optimized for performance and generally provide better gaming performance. It is not necessary to install these modde divers but if you want to tinker around with advanced settings then these drivers are pretty good.

    You can find them here...

Thanks miner! HP told me I couldn't download Catalyst 6.1 because they block it. Anything I need to know before downloading this (I think) modified version of Catalyst 6.1?

I installed it and everything is working...

One more question. Do I still have to download Catalyst 6.1 or was this bundled with Omega?

    Edit...I think they are...

Anyway...these drivers are great! Thanks again!

In fact for catalyst IGP driver 6.2 (the ATI latest release as of today), you can simply use the ATI setup to install the driver without any warning or hiccup and without having to use the above URL specified workaround, although the ATI driver release note does not claim it support the 200M.

I have no problem with the driver, but I'm not a gamer, although my work has some light 3D accelaration use to the driver.

Omega driver has some performance gain, their mods is basically some setting and configuration tweaking based on catalyst release, not really an independing driver coding.

Omega drivers are not necessarily better for benchmarking, but they provide more eyecandy than the official Catalysts.

These drivers are giving me problems with media center and power dvd. I will have to go back... Do I just reinstall the older drivers?

You are probably getting problems, because you didn“t uninstall the old drivers, prior installing Omega.

Well I took off everything. Uninstall the drivers and then did the hp driver. Media center still doesn't work. It says video card or driver not working with MCE.

    I need help :(

It would be nice to just get the omega drivers working with media center...

Right now I am doing the recovery driver cd... Then I will get the omega working once I see media center working...

    Edit: Still doesn't work!

Now I am going to drive uninstall the drivers in safe mode...

Uninstall the drivers with Driver Cleaner. It's the safest way.

    Yup. I just did that.

ok. After installing omega, mce still doesn't work. Also when clicking on the ati tray it says "cannot find ATI video board or no catalyst drivers installed.

    What now?

Well I repaird MCE thinking that would help...it didn't

Not only that but my wireless button light on my dv5000z doesn't stay on...

I might just do a clean install... :(
