Omen 15 came back from repair center, not fixed -_-

So I bought last year (December) a Omen 15 dc0030ca, which comes with a i7 8750 @2.20ghz, GTX 1060 6gb, and 16gb ram.
The pc has serious thermal issues so I send back to HP and it came back...with the same problem.
I ve read that some people fixed it with undervolt, but i am a noooooooooob!
I just want to play games without burning up my fingers.
Does anyone had the same problem? If yes, any tutorial for beginners like me?

The new i7s are very known to run very hot and a lot laptops at that price range dont have good cooling systems.

You can try undervolting with Intel XTU but it'll reset your undervolt settings when you restart your laptop and but its easier to use for beginners than Throttlestop but in case you wanna use throttlestop heres a guide for it

You can try using repasting the CPU+GPU with a better quality thermal paste because stock thermal paste sucks but it might void your warranty.

All right so I did the undervolt, and I am at -140mV at the core and -125mV at the cache.
Still having issues, but not in all cores.
This is one hour of rocket league. It does the same thing on Dragon Quest.

 

Tough call, I like said the new i7s are known to run very hot.

The next thing i would suggest is to repaste both the CPU and GPU with better thermal paste but that will void your warranty i think. You can try disabling turboboost by going to power settings and setting your maximum processor state to 99% but you'll lose almost half of your CPU performance which is not worth it these days, other than that you can either send it back to HP again since you're under warranty to do something about it or buy a laptop cooler.
