Hi...I posted a reply in the Installing XP pinned thread, but no response as of yet and since it was thrown in with other questions, I thought I'd start a new thread on it because I've seen many posts about it but no answers.
I have XP installed on my dv9700t and everything works, but there is one remaining yellow bang. The device is...
Type: Unknown Device
Location: on Intel ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2815
Hardware ID: ACPI\HPQ0007\4&2FFE84EA&0
If anybody knows what the heck this is...please let me know.
Thank you very much.

That is either a TPM chip or the fingerprint reader (its one of them for sure, not sure what the dv9700 has under the hood).

this might relate to it: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?pid=18194
ACPI\HPQ0007\4&2FFE84EA&0 : HP Remote Control HID Device -
yes, this is the infamous quick launch buttons or quick touch keys driver. -
Interesting. I have the Quicklaunch buttons driver installed. Also, I know my laptop came with a remote, but I haven't seen or heard of a driver for the HP Remote Control HID Device. Which, if that post you directed me to is correct, would be what this is. Also, to address the other reply, I do not have a fingerprint reader on mine. What is the TPM chip?
Since you guys have an idea of what it is. How might I go about getting it fixed? Thanks. -
Yes I had the same problem with my 9700t and it was fixed by installing the most updated QLB driver from HP , this will install the driver for HID keyboard and the remote control controller

After installing it and reboot , you will find the new devices in your device manager with no more yellow mark -

Actually, I haven't tested to see if the remote isn't working. I'm going to try to use the link that ahmedfouad provided and see if that works. Probably will...I think it's an updated version from the one I installed.
Thanks. -
Woohoo! It worked! Thank you thank you thank you! It also caused a new "found new hardware" wizard to appear, but when I had it automatically search and install it installed "HID Keyboard Device" so there's no more yellow bangs and all is well. Thanks again!

I've had this condition since I installed Win XP on my DV9700T and this took care of it!
