Ok, I installed Alcohol 120% on my DV9000t series (9410us) to start burning DVDs of..information on the laptop I need for my new lappy (See Sig)

Well, it crashed during installation, rebooted and said it blocked the Alcohol program even though it installed and now it starts to trying to install some "Expanding Bios" driver crap and it BSOD's me everytime.

If I try to boot up in safe mode, it BSODs at the Windows Logo

This is with Vista, factory install. Do I have access to my recovery parition? How do I use it?

I don't think it's a hardware problem though you can get a replacement if you want to.

Its because its trying to install an imcompatable device, I cant stop it, or I dont know how. I want to know how I use my built-in partion to factory restore the thing.

I think you press F11 while booting. It flashes on the screen as it boots. But BEWARE!! Using the recovery partition will WIPE OUT ALL OF YOUR DATA.

is the issues with the BIOS? Cause then you got probs. Otherwise you will probably have to try recovery disks (hope you made them :)) Otherwise you got to call HP to order some.

if you cant get to the recovery partition (hitting F2 should bring you to bios, might have option in there, if not try F8 to see if itll let you book to recovery partition) i have another option to you:

If you have a desktop at home, you can pull the hard drive out of your laptop, use an adaptor (about 5.00usd on ebay) to give it a normal IDE connection, slave it to your Desktop, allowing you to access the data on the HDD, and you can then delete any and all alcohol 120 software, this will more than likely stop it from trying to install crap, but will in turn give you a new error when you put the hdd back into the laptop.

Thing is, the new error should be failed to start errors, which you can fix fairly easy compared to what your describing

ill be glad to help you out and give you more detailed instructions on how to do this, if youwant you can hit me up
