I've posted a few times on a few different websites about my problem, and found that a few people with the DV series have a possibly similar issue. My right speaker and the subwoofer both worked, but the left speaker didn't even register. I hadn't found any solution, but today I disassembled my DV7t, and when I was putting it back together I realized that one of the prongs on the speaker plug was bent neatly upwards. I carefully bent it back into place, got everything put back together and now I have all my speakers working! ...now if I can only figure out where this last screw was supposed to go....

    Congrats!

Pays to look at wiring, just in case. I had a service call the other day ona HP desktop, she had one DVD that never "opened" out of two, well, it never would as the power cable had pulled back from the drive, due to the whole bundle being tightly made (it was a nice factory job too, just not enough slack for that particular cable...)

As for the screw, well... if it doesn't fall apart ... :)
