Im thinking that Im going to go for one of these:

    This one has the T5800

While on HP canada's website it has a T6400

Will this get the job done for basic web surfing, email, office documents, and occasional dvd watching? What's the difference (if any) between the T5800 and the T6400? Can I upgrade the processor in the future to a P series intel?

Anybody have any input? Is it better to get the T5800 or the T6400? Dang HP and their lack of customization on the HP canada website :D

the T6400 is the most popular Centrino processor out there in the notebook market... i've seen dv5s, studio 15s etc with the t6400 as standard... dont go for pentium D processors though, only Core 2 duo!

If it was only for "basic web surfing, email, office documents, and occasional dvd watching", nope you will not notice the different between them. Please keep in mind that upgrading processor is not recommend for notebook.

T5800 is the new merom, while T6400 is penryl, for $200 different, I would prefer T5800.
