Going back to school and wanted a portable machine for notes, books, and some light gaming in free time while I'm out. Problem is that my budget is extremely limited right now.

I've been bouncing back and forth between a new tablet for reading books and note taking and a laptop for ease of typing, and thought this might be the best of both worlds. Here's the one I found, price $600:

    HP Refurbished 15-u010 Laptop

    • Operating System Windows 8.1

    • Intel Core i5-4210U

That is not the new 2015 Spectre x360, it is a different model called the Envy x360. The Envy and Spectre are different model lines at HP.

I apologize for not having any suggestions for a good budget model in the $600 range, but just know that the Envy x360 you're looking at has a regular mechanical hard drive and probably around 4-ish hours of battery life. I can also almost guarantee the screen will be a TN panel, meaning not very good viewing angles.

Thanks for the catch. It looks like, when I was trying to look it up online, it was bringing up the wrong model. I guess I should have known better.

    Thank you very much.
