Hi Everyone, I have a really odd request. Basically I'll be going out of town this Wednesday and I won't be able to get the recovery CD in time. I want to set up my computer with the new hard drive and everything before i leave for this business trip. I was hoping someone in the Orange County, CA area if they can burn me a copy or let me borrow their Window Media Center recovery CD(the 10 Dollar one from HP) it would be greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

What model notebook do you have?

If it's one of the new ones; dv2000, dv8000, etc, you should be able to just burn your own...

Yes, the model i have is the DV8000t. The whole reason why i don't want to burn my own is because i'm trying to avoid all the bloatware. Thank you.

Thanks. If worse comes to worse I can just wait until Friday when everything is suppose to come in. I'm just overly excited to get my laptop back to how i like it. I just went through 3 months without a laptop because of HP. But they replaced it free of charge more than i expected. Here's what i started with.

    HP ZD7000CTo
    3.2Ghz with HT
    256MB ram
    40 GIG HD
    128MB video card
    wireless
    cd burner
    brightview

    My new system is
    DV8000T
    2.16Ghz Duo Core
    2 Gigz Ram
    256MB video
60 gig 7200RPM main hard drive(just ordered waiting to come in)
100 gig 7200RPM secondary Hard drive
    wireless + bluetooth
    DVD burner + lightscribe.
    UltraBrightview

as you can imagine i got the top of everything and am just excited to install all software and set everything up once i get a recovery disc so i can format and start over.
