I bought a dv6700t Special Edition on the 20th, but 2 days after the estimated shipping date, I received an email where I was told that the order was gonna be delayed. Later, I found out that the reason was that they didn't have he included mouse in the Special edition laptop.
Anyway, the email said "you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund". Of course that was bullcrap, I contacted them on the 2/1, first I was told that I couldn't cancel the order, then I was told that it was gonna be canceled in 48 hours, then I was told that the request was submitted but I needed to wait another 48 hours, then I was told that the order MAY be canceled that I needed to wait yet another 48 hours from the date the factory process the cancellation or something like that. They told me to email the corporation offices, that they will contact me back, but I know that ain't gonna happen.

Since I had already bought some HP accessories and a plan, which I still have, I figure I'd use the HP $500 coupon and get a better computer. But since they had already taken the money from my credit card, I had to wait a few days, and now the coupon has expired

They did give me a ridiculous $50 credit, which makes everything more infuriating. I don't know what to do now, I mean, I don't even have the laptop and I've already had all these problems. I hate HP. But I need a laptop ASAP.

Err... Why'd you cancel in the first place? Delays happen, unless this was a really unacceptable long delay.
You could of course talk to HP again about your situation, but somehow I doubt they will honor you coupon. But it's worth a try. Perhaps you can work something out with them.
I don't know if the accessories you bought will work with other notebooks. If you don't want a HP anymore you could always try selling them on eBay or something.

Well, I hope you have better luck next time.

Well, when I talked to the first person, he said that even though the estimated ship date was moved on two weeks, it might take longer than that.

Why didn't you wait and order a laptop with a coupon in the first place? If you would have asked around here before you ordered the laptop we would have told you all about their coupons. It sucks your order was delayed but its not all HP's fault, you should have done more research and asked around before you ordered. At this point it does not really matter, if you still want a good deal then cancel the order and wait for the next coupon which should be out within a month or so.

That is long. But you were fully prepped for a HP notebook. As I see it you have two options:
    1. Work something out with HP
    2. Cut your losses and buy something else

Not much to do about this anymore unfortunatly. It sucks about your coupon. You can always try to get a good deal on a notebook somewhere else.

I didn't have enough money then, I was out $1500 for the delayed laptop. And apparently I place the new order, with the coupon, on the day it expired. I guess I'm gonna have to wait.

    Always remember Murphy's Law. :D
The best is to just move on to picking out a new system.

The bastards offered me a $100 discount over the already existing 150 rebate. So that's 250 less compared to the original $300 off coupon that I used in the first place.

Anybody has any idea when there are gonna be more coupons?
