Hi,
I'm ready to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate on my DV7Tqe. I just had to ask, is there a order in which i have to install the drivers for the laptop once Windows 7 is installed? I know i should install the intel video drivers before the amd video drivers, but not sure about the other ones.
Thank you!

2. Intel and Broadcom (depending on what brand of LAN card came in your machine) Wireless and Wired LAN drivers
3. Audio
4. Video...the HP installer does both AMD and Intel in one package...
5. Synaptics Touchpad
6. USB 3.0 drivers to enable high speed transfers on the USB 3.0 port
7. Bluetooth (if you have it)
8. Fingerprint reader
9. Memory card reader
The object is to get all the hardware installed properly, so that when you are finished...there are no "exclamation marks" in your Device manager.
Once done, you can selectively choose any apps from HP like Software assistant, etc. -
Hi there,
I also just bought a dv7t quad (LM726AV) and planning to do a clean install of Windows 7. However, I am a bit confused with all the different drivers on HP's site. What's the difference between the 'Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver' and 'Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver'? What order should I install them?
Also, can someone explain the different Intel Wireless, WiFi, PROSet drivers? I don't plan on using the Wireless Display or My WiFi technologies but should I install the drivers anyway to avoid the exclamation marks in Device Manager? Are those wireless technologies useful or popular?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Order in which to install drivers on a DV7Tqe?
