Costco was told by HP, Wednesday the 14th, to rase prices on upgrades. Friday at 12:00 am Costco started to change there prices.
I heard about this Thursday from a friend and I ordered mine from Costco for $1,200. Now when i go on and pick out the same things its now $1,600.
Rumor is costco tried to update pricing and had problems so costco and HP will change prices sometime next week. So if you are really thinking of a dv2000 I would buy it now or risk paying 200+ dollars more for the same thing.
They said this is due to a low market price to get people to buy and a raze in price to make a better profit.
HP.com currently is offering the low price costco did have I would check them out...![]()

Yesterday the prices were all messed up. They are normal now, but the prices yesterday were an accident because the default 1.83 ghz processor was standard, but to go to the 1.66 processor you had to pay more. Prices are back to normal now, but the price hike will most likely not be from 1200 to 1600, for example...if it happens. i am thinking about this notebook and will have some thinking to do over the weekend on whether or not to return my dv5000t to costco.

Well bad timing for me, I guess. I'm saving up and it will be a couple of more weeks until I can afford mine.

does this mean the hpshopping site will raise theirs as well?

Does anybody know if the price will go up for every laptop or just the new dv2000/v3000 line?
I'm going to get a laptop from hp next week. -
There seems to be a price war going on for processors, which would indicate that most laptops might go down in price. Besides, generally speaking, computers and laptops go down in price and/or get faster processors or improved graphics.
The HP dv2000/Compaq v3000 are new models, and, I'd imagine, selling very quickly.
Could be a unique thing with the dv2000/v3000's...
Order your dv2000 now or else!
