    mavman--congradulations on your new purchase!!

And don't be surprised if it arrives quite a bit before HP's estimated arrival date! (My zx5000 arrived about 2 weeks before the date HP/CostCo estimated.

I have the R3000T with the exact same system spec's are your computer and I really like mine a lot! If I could do anything I might have possibly gone for the 3.2GHz but its really not much difference, I just want nice bench marks :) dordale is right though, it will come most likly well before its suppose to. Mine came about 5 days after I ordered. It was actully suppose to ship today :)

    Mavman,
How did the price went up all the way to 1437.I bought mine for $1150 and the only difference between mine and yours is the 512MB that you got and 256MB that I got (I'm upgrading to 1GB anyways and I'm buying it seperately).Oh yeah and I got the DVD only since I have a CD-RW on my desktop.I don't see how these two things got the price almost 300 bucks up.I got the student discount also...Check again if there wasn't some kind of a mistake.

Good for you. I looked at the ZX5000 for a looooooong time before getting an inspiron. Battery life was the issue.

When it had the mobile pentium 4, it didn't have a 128 meg video card. When it got the 128 mb video card, it didn't have the mobile pentium 4.
I got the best of both worlds with the 8600.

mayman: Your prices are right, I just checked it. The guy that claimed $1311 didn't use the 5400 drive, just the 4200. The guy that had $1150 may have gotten it on an older promotion.
