Hi, first I wanted to say thanks for all the info. I have been in the market for a new laptop for a few months and I decided to wait for the release of Vista nd 2007... since personally I hate upgrades.

I ordered my laptop a few hours after HP started selling them with vista installed (I'm in Japan so I checked in the afternoon... XP.. then in the evening Vista). I was happy to see the dual 7200 rpm 100 gig hard drives (I was planning on buying a single and installing the second. I was also suprised by the upgraded TV tuner (though in the end I realized I hate things hanging off my laptop).

I was hoping someone could post a picture and/or describe how the Mobile Remote Control Express Card looks while inside the laptop... is it flush

I think my uses may be a little different than the most home users, but I thought I'd ask a few perfomance questions on the off chance that someone is putting their laptop under a similar load... I have a small moonlighting job where I developing software.... basically I will be running vmware (beta 6) and rhel 4 as a guest (with apache, db2 server half the time oracle server the other half)... part of what I am wondering... when I transition off my current laptop to this new laptop should I migrate up to 64bit vista, vmware, and rhel, db2 and oracle.... will this boost perfomance at all?

    Anyway Here's my specs

It sits flush with the laptop. It is pretty thin & basically designed to fit inside the expresscard slot.

Is this system a 32 bit or 64 bit?

It is capable of running both 32 bit & 64 bit OS if you configure/purchase it with the Core 2 Duo. But HP currently only sell 32 bit OS on their systems.

Oh, the remote control does fit flush maybe even a little recessed. One thing though: when you put in the battery for the remote it does not seem to seat very well and sometimes cause the remote not to work until squeezed hard so I have learned to take a piece of scotch tape and use it to hold the battrey in place before snapping on the cover.

Nice! I just ordered almost the same thing. Why did you go with Vista Premium instead of Ultimate?
