    Ordered nc8430 - month to ship!?

    Anyone else have such an extraordinary wait time for getting a custom HP? I wasn't expecting next-day delivery but...a month?

    I ordered mine on Sept 16th, and they've said between Oct 3 and 14 for the ship date, afer getting my hopes up with an initial delivery date of the 23rd.

    I take it you chose one of the Core2 models?

    I have too.

    It has been 10 days (expected shipping date today....lets see if THAT happens). I think all the CTO Core 2 Duo processors models are backordered.

    Yea I got the 2 GHz model - and yea they must be backordered or something. That's just cruel, I finally commit to a notebook after about a month of researching...and now I get to wait another! :(

    Well I guess I'm glad to know my problem isn't unique though, I guess HP doesn't have it out for just me.

    It's all C2D/nc9430 Models; mine isn't custom configured; I got this one .

    As far as I understand it, they still 'build to order' rather than keeping them in stock so the shortage of C2D's affects all HP models.
