I just ordered a HDX16 laptop today, fully loaded and even got a 500 dollar rebate. So hopefully ill be able to do a review of it by next month.
    2.8ghz cpu
    4 gigs of ram
320 ghz hdd at 5200 rpm
    and 16 inch 1080p screen
    and a blu ray drive
    9600m GT 512 gpu

all for a little under 1300 bucks.

Was it a good decision getting this?

Yep i barely convinced my parents to chip in 200 bucks so i could afford one. I feel really lucky considering the 500 dollars off is only for the first 2700 people... leme find the code real quick.

    Edit: NB0915 that's the code.

    #1 I hate the Flames.....GO SHARKS!!!!!!!

#2 Should be an awesome laptop...I just sent back my dv5t and ordered one pretty much with the exact same settings, except I got the 2.26 processor and I am going to upgrade the ram myself......post on here if you get an estimated build date please...my order hasnt been confirmed yet I'm wondering when they will say it will be ready. I CANT WAIT!!!! lol only went through 1 dv5t that broke and 1 dv7 I ordered then canceled. They offered me $60 credit to keep the dv7 but I told them I'm already saving $40 on the same setup and getting a better screen, the lady laughed and gave me my return auth # hahaha.

Hey how were you able to return the laptop, what reason did you give them, i'm starting to have doubts on the dv5t i just purchased. How soon must you call them before they can cancel your order? And do you have to give them a reason? What is a good reason?

I ordered mine last night and was able to get the coupon to work.

I was not able to get the Blu-Ray drive because I had to get rid of a $100 to afford everything.

Does anyone know if HP sell Optical Drives?, so maybe in the future I can add a BD drive.

The coupon is one of the rare ones that hp releases, but you should get somewhere like a 300 dollar coupon for black friday. Too bad the HDX 18 isn't out yet or else i might have considered that one. But the 16 inch is great too.

My DV7t is on it's way and I just called to cancel the order to get the HDX18t when it comes out. I'll try it out for a week then send it back. The screen was the deal clincher for me; I want that high resolution and ultra brightview screen.

If you go to the website today, you can't even order the 1080p screen resolution -- it is no longer an option. There are also fewer processor / RAM choices. Weird.

I was wondering if anyone else saw this also- I can't believe you can't get the 1080p resolution anymore- that was the whole reason of buying the thing!!! You also can't get 4 GB of ram anymore- what in the world is goin on?? Does HP have like, too many orders, and needs to curb them by taking away options or somethin??

    Wouldn't THAT be interesting...

Maybe there is going to be some kind of supply issue. OR, maybe they realized that its just too good.
