I'm extremely excited but i have the following questions:
Will it play Crysis 2? If so, how well?
Will it play Elder Scrolls: Skyrim? If so, how well?
Is 6GB enough to take full advantage of the processor?
Is the thermal paste used in the laptop of good quality?
Will I be able to swap out the screen and custom install a 1080p panel into the laptop at a later date?
Thanks!

6gb should be enough unless your doing something seriously ram intensive
I dont know sorry.
Probably however I can not say for sure that yes you can. -

My price is clocked at $1088.49 instead of $1554.99. Thank you HP 30% off coupon -
Now I need to figure out how they are doing the 10% off, I hope they count it before the coupon. -
I mean can't you just be super careful with it? And im assuming anyone competent enough to browse these forums will be able to handle a virus or two themselves. -

Back on topic (lol) yeah but I don't think i'll be throwing my backpack around, especially knowing i have a laptop in it. I can see the "crazy college environment" aspect of it but especially in your case, that extra $300 can be put towards a replacement laptop if it actually breaks hahaha. -
And I am probibly see how difficult a refund will be tomorrow, $300 on a $800 item is alot for something I probibly won't use anyway. Plus that and the ~$90 from the 10% off could get a nice ssd.
-
Oh yeah i hesitated on the SSD and went for the HDD. $400 for a 160gb was way too much...
What are your thoughts on the screen resolution? -
I will probibly wait for ssd prices to drop alittle lower so it's about $150 for 120gb.
Well I would have liked atleast 900p on the DV6 but I'm used to working with low resolution, and the lower resolution will help with gameing alot so I'm ok with it. -
According to the site, there are currently no online coupons listed for HP. I am looking to purchase a dv6tqe myself. Probably looking to spend almost $3000usd by the way I have it configured.
What coupons are currently available for the HP dv6tqe? -

Update:
I used the coupon code "NB4761". I don't know if you can still use it though because it might be expired. It's 30% off of a customized dv6t quad edition. -

Congrats on the new system. I'll be joining the club soon, too with the configuration in my sig. The only hitch is the timing. It's not scheduled to be built until April 25. For the price, though, (less than $900 with tax and coupon code) I don't think you'll find a much better machine.
I didn't opt to extend the warranty through HP because I'm going to go for a 3-year plan with accidental damage through Squaretrade.
I was originally going to go with a Lenovo Y560p, but the dv6t ended up about $100 cheaper and came with a more powerful GPU, built-in USB 3.0, more RAM, and a larger, faster hard drive. Fortunately, I was able to cancel that order in the nick of time. I seriously considered the Sager NP5160, but I strongly dislike NVIDIA Optimus. I also checked the new MacBook Pro line, but in order to get something remotely comparable to the HP, I'd have to spend more than twice as much. I love the Mac's form factor as well as OS X, but not that much. -
My original laptop of choice could have been the MBP 15.6 inch but I was able to have a more powerful configuration with the HP dv6tqe for almost $1200 less than the MBP! So yeah I ended up getting it.
I mean really, it's all about the internals in the end.
Ordered the New dv6tqe
