A week ago I got a new dv7t-7xxx which I think is a pretty sweet machine. However, since the refresh on the ENVY-17 I am tempted to return it and get an ENVY instead and hopefully also cash in on the $15 Win8 upgrade as well.

Any problem with me ordering new ENVY and then processing the dv7t return in a week or so to minimize the downtime? Anybody have experience with this rather than RMA'ing first and ordering the exchange?

I kept my dv6 until the day i picked up my dv7 . No issues. Just expect to have both charges out there till you get the first one on the way back. They were pretty quick to credit the dv6 back once they got the shipping notice.

I sent back my DV7 the day after I received it, When ENVY 17's refresh was announced, and if all had went well I would've probably been receiving my new book by the latter end of the coming week. Estimated ship date? 6/26...... 6 days were tacked on simply because of my selection of the 750G hybrid HDD and i'll be definitely looking into that with HP

My DV7 is in Alaska right now and my Envy 17 is due to ship next week. I'll be returning the DV7 as soon as it arrives. It's unlikely I'll even open the box.

I too went with the 750G HDD I'm guess that was the most popular of the drives as to why your shipping date got pushed back DKP89.

The 750G was a 7200RPM drive and I believe the standard 1TB drive was only 5400RPM so for only $10.00 more I'm sure there was a bunch of people who took the 750B or the 1TB.
