Are there any guides about on how to do this? I'm pretty new to overclocking (at least for ATI cards). I would much appreciate any help!

I've the f4830 (but that's almost the same)
Download AMD GPUtool, there you can change core and mem speeds.

    Stock 5830 runs on 500/800 (like 4830)

I would start at 550/900 and than change values by 20mhz and check everytime for artifacts and temps (run futuremark, furmark or other stressful gpu apps to test this)
If it's good, you don't see artifacts and you can go up another 20mhz.
Repeat this till you see artifacts, than put the speeds to the lastest artifactfree result (it's advisable to put it even lower if you want a stable oc that you use more than once)
