    Hey Everyone,

My sister's four year old TX1219 had the defective NVIDIA motherboard chipset which died about 2 years ago, but luckily was covered through the extended warranty which was purchased through Circuit City. I'm uncertain whether they replaced the faulty motherboard with yet another bad mobo, but so far it has not given any headaches until recently. The laptop overheats and sounds off some weird beeping noises and then shuts down randomly. I installed a program to check the temperature of the processor cores and lo and behold they're at 85-92C which clearly is WAY above normal operating temperatures.

The upper right hand corner is where the notebook has become exceedingly hot and I'm convinced something is the matter with the fan/heatsink assembly as there is no obnoxious fan noise. Any thoughts?

If something is up with the fan/heatink is it worth spending the dough to replace the part? Or do you folks believe it's a motherboard related issue?

    Thanks for your help :)
