Hey guys I received my dv6t se-6100 23 days ago. Random hell has been happening once I got out of the 21 day return zone.

When playing league of legends I blue screen probably once per session from I'm guessing heat because the vent is hot as hell where the gpu(6770m) is.

Even worse though I have been crashing while just being on the internet/desktop stuff. My screen becomes filled with horizontal lines and stays like that forcing me to do a hard reset. Sometimes though after this happens and i reboot, the screen doesn't turn on and the caps lock button just blinks.

Any ideas?? I had a ton of issues with HP's quality control and took them 3 laptops before I got what I ordered -_-. Like I said this stuff only started happening yesterday leading me to believe some component is dying in the laptop...

I did the built in hard drive checker and it said it was fine. The horizontal lines makes me think it's GPU related but any tips would be cool.

Edit - regarding the heat I ran gpu-z while sc2 was going. Seems like temps reach mid 60's Celsius which while hot.. shouldn't be the issue.

    Thanks.

The drivers are just what came with the laptop. I do have the new revision for the BIOS, but I got this after the problems started.

And for the Bsod, when it does it again I'll post it up!

edit. I'm running a memory test right now just in case as well.

Just throwing out a possibility here:

I had a few issues, when I first received mine, that led me to an occassional BSOD all pointing towards the ATi driver. Had problems playing blu-ray movies as well. Again... pointing to the ATi driver. I was using the full factory OEM OS install. My problems became mute and were solved by simply using the OS minimal system install. Which installed only the necessary component drivers with none of the bloatware. Might be worth a looksee/consideration before sending it back

Okay update.. I eventually got a BSOD again and it had the error message of irql_not_less_or_equal and I looked it up online and said some stuff about drivers not being compatible or working.

I said screw it and did a minimum system restore and my computer locked up mid restore lol. My computer would only boot to BIOS after this and I eventually got into the system restore menu and did a full. (minimum wouldn't work for whatever reason.)

After restoring there hasn't been any issue so far. I haven't gamed though yet and will probably later tnoight so I'll see if anything happens. Otherwise I guess it was a ty driver at the moment. :s

EDIT- Okay was watching full screen video from youtube on integrated and computer just went to a blackscreen and wouldn't respond. Then, restarted and while going onto internet screen completely artifacted and then went to a blackscreen. The computer would then stay blackscreen when I tried to restart it for about 5 minutes. Is this overheating..? Can't be the 6770m because it wasn't on.

Install the free WhoCrashed software and run it. It will help diagnose the problem in words that make sense.

Thanks man will do! Well ran LoL while GPUz and CPU temp were going. They only hit about 55c for gpu and 60ish for cpu. So I'll see what the dump from whocrashed says.

Hah don't have any dump files. I haven't BSOD yet during my fresh install. The comp has just crashed/blackscreened.
