I am strongly thinking of purchasing this laptop for gaming purposes for games such as Counter Strike source, dod source, and 2moons. Will this computer be able to handle these games on high settings or other games similar to them?

No - you'll need something with a more powerful graphics card (i.e. an nVidia 8600 instead of HP's 8400), and you'll probably also want a higher resolution screen. These features are available on Dell Inspirons, which also offer the option of a 7200rpm 160Gb hard drive.
If only HP offered the options of Dell, but in their own casing/form factor. I hate Dell's plasticky build quality and crap design, but wish HP offered such a wide range of options. -
Oooh where do you plan on purchasing this notebook? I plan on picking one up myself but nobody seems to have it. It seems like the only places to get one is Staples / Bureau En Gros or www.hpshopping.ca.

I beleive you can get it from Dumoulin, Audiotronic.ca, Directcanada.com, Ncix, and many more. Just type in google DV6565ca. I am desperately waiting to buy this laptop, but I want to buy it from Futureshop or BestBuy because of their payment and warranty options. Futureshop has 12 months no payments no interest plus I can get the 3 year extended warranty on it.

I wouldn't go near Dell at this time. I had a 3 month long "episode" over a monitor I bought and Dell had switched the panels used but kept model number the same. I do admire their choices though. HP doesn't seem to get away from wxga at all. They also seem to have gone whole hog on AMD cpu's. If you want an HP with an Intel C2D at a greater resolution than wxga it looks impossible. -

Not at Circuit City or Best Buy. At CC they sell 21 AMD lappies and 9 of them are HP (13 Intel). Toshiba has 5 (20 Intel). Gateway has 1 (4 Intel). Acer has 4 (4 Intel) Sony 0. Even HP's new 12" tablet dealio a lot of people liked is AMD.

Oh, you mean retail outlets. I guess HP wants to unload all of their AMD stock, as most of the models are slated to be replaced in the consumer line.

The graphic card on the dv6565ca will not be able to handle thoes games you will need to get a better card. -
How well would it handle games like WoW?
Does the 1280 resolution limit how well the games look/play??
