Really? hp7t? i don't agree with that assesment, solely because it has a major flaw as the reviewer pointed out... the dull screen. that alone is a major bust for me... i would give it an 88... but thanks for sharing

I've tried so many 17 inch notebooks. The DV7t wins! I agree.

They probably looked at my bed sheets and were like oh THAT'S A 91! lol

AND, TSD you are going to effin love your new notebook. I swear. It was so nice I didn't even want to take it out of the box. The design is awesome and the power is another story. You read my review so you got the gist of it.

I'm going to grab another DV7T with infinity display and take comparision pics between the one with and without.

^ If you don't have any pics of the infinity screen before I get mine, I will be glad to take some pics and post 'em.

I am sort of regretting not getting the 7200rpm drive but, no biggie, I may just pick up the western digital scorpio drive - 320 GB, 3 Gb/s, 16 MB Cache, 7200 RPM - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=477

I have read the posts regarding 5400rpm vs 7200 rpm, but i think this is the one option on my laptop which i didnt go 'all out' on - therefore, i feel compelled to get a 7200 rpm drive. l0l.

    gotta love nonsense reasoning!

just wondering - what is the SATA speed on the dv7t? 1.5gbps? or 3.0? i couldn't find this info anywhere!

You just feel that part was left out. The rest of the notebook is amazing but then the hard drive is in need of viagra. I get it. :)

Anyhow, it's not really necessary. 5400 will do just fine.

It would be nice if they brought back the UltraBrightview option from the dv9000 series. I'd definitely go for dual lamps, considering a 17" notebook is more a desktop replacement than a mobile anyway.............

I guess. I still enjoy tagging along my DV7. :)

My ZV5000 15.4' notebook weighed like 8 pounds and surprisingly this DV7 weighs a little less. I've gotten used to carrying an 8 pound case of metal.

I should be getting the DV7 with infinity sometime around August 22nd. However, it'll most likely come sooner. The Blu-Ray and Integrated TV Tuner will be included so I will probably add a portion to my review about those.

Depends on what they rate the notebook on.
I personally don't trust those ratings, most of them are generally biased anyway.

I got my 9700t with the UltraBrightview. I love it. Instead of having to have the brightness all the way up on my old Compaq R4000, I have it set less than halfway up on the 9700t.
