    Does the v2000z (Turion) take PC3200 ram or does it max out at PC2700?

    yes it does but with the newest BIOS F.11 /F.0A may work too/ Go with a known brand since there may be compatability issues due to the video card's shared memory. I've heard, the video card get's its memory from Slot 2, so you may want to preserve the original memory for that slot or probably experiment and find whatever works for you
