Hello to all. I have just purchased a nx9420, which i am going to use as a DV editing machine, and i am facing the following issues.
Firstly i had a PCMCIA RAID SATA card with VIA VT6421 Chipset which works perfectly with my DELL Precission M60 but HP does not even recognize it. Nothing happens when i insert the card to the PCMCIA slot (It is a 32bit 3,3V Type II card). What can i do?
Secondly the screen has 1600x1050 resolution and at the two bottom corners is darker that the rest of the scren is that normal?
Thirdly sometimes when i restart the system it brings me in front of an empty desktop and using the Alt Ctrl Del i restart again and everything is fine? What is going on? I am very worried Pls any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    1) I'm not too sure about this problem but check the device manager for abnormalities.
    2) Yes, the two darker corners are normal. It's the side effect of the backlight they use, and I have it too (on both my original LCD and my replacement LCD). Several others have reported it as well.
    3) HP's factory image seems to do this every once in a while. I was able to fix it by booting to safe mode. Also, try hitting F8 when booting and start using the last known good configuration. For some reason, XP is screwed up the way that HP installed it, but it is fixable. I'm not too sure what I finally did, but after 3 months with my notebook the problem went away.

Ok about the screen but it is unucceptable this laptop costs 2000€ in Greece. As far as the PCMCIA is concerned no there is nothin unusual in the device manager. I have two items concerning PCMCIA (+PCMCIA Flash ) that seems to work correctly (reports Texas Instruments PC12xxx). :(
