    Hello guys,

I've ran into a big problem as long as I decided to upgrade my GPU from GTX 780m (which worked flawlessly) to GTX 980m (both cards are Clevo, with Clevo's vBios). The new GTX 980m ist v-sync card with hardware ID 13D7.
My system is HP 8760w, 32Gb ram, DC2 display, 2x250 SSD 850 Pro.
The problem appears once I install the nVidia drivers (Win 7 64 OS) - after restart just after the splash screen, the laptop’s display goes black and only DP port has video output.
The card is fully recognized in the bios though...
I tried Win 10 Pro in UEFI mode, there the problem is lesser but still there - after cold boot there is black screen on windows logon, after resuming from sleep mode - black screen. in both cases force reboot resolves the problem. At least in Win 10 drivers installed properly and the DC panel was recognized in Device Manager as well as in HP Display Assistant. But those black screens are driving me crazy...what is the problem?
I modded the .inf files properly and the driver installs just fine, but after reboot there is nothing on the internal laptop's screen...
    Please, give me some hand...

    Hi there!

It looks pretty similar to me, when I've accidently screwed up my EDID firmware on LCD panel. When I upload new EDID to panel from similar screen it appears to work as far as drivers are not installed. With drivers same story - booting to splash screen and laptop LCD goes off, only external screen remain working.

Fixed by uploading original EDID to my laptop LCD as I noticed it not recognized correctly with that EDID was uploaded from other panel.

Hey I had the same problem when I bought a 970m for my 8760w but mine was a problem of having a dream color display I believe, because when I put a non dream color display in it worked fine. I did all the bios changes and I did uefi mode and everything but I just got a black screen so switching to a non dream color display should work but of course you won't have a dream color display.
