When i plug in a PS2 mouse it wont work. i have used several different mice and none work using the PS2 port. when i use a serial mouse it works fine after rebooting. I know in the past i would just plus in the PS2 mouse it would automatically work. Is there a setting or something in the control panel?

There shouldn't be. The port could be defective or have the wrong settings or something. I almost fell out of my chair when you said serial mouse, LOL.

Nothing, the problem is a notebook with a serial port in the first place! Next you'll tell me about how you use a parallel port to print.

i wish my l2000z had a PS2 port. I have like 20 of these mice and they are comfortable when I'm using at home. One usb port more! /for printing cause there's no parallel port :)/

Check the BIOS to see if the PS/2 port has been disabled. If so, just enable it and see. You may also want to look for an option for something like simultaneous internal/external mouse and enable it.
