I have been having a problem with my pagefile.sys on my new Pavillion 6000t. About 3 weeks after I purchased it the hard drive would go crazy for about 10 minutes at a time. This would happen whenever I would click on a file or folder in Explorer. Resource Monitor told me that it was the pagefile.sys file. It was being accessed by different programs, but it was constantly accessing the page file. This was on Vista Home Premium that came with the machine. Upon contacting HP they had me update the firmware and do a hard drive diagnostic from BIOS. The disk was fine but the computer kept doing it. I then performed a clean install after deleting both of my partitions and consiolidating them into one. I figured a clean istall would fix the problem. It was fine for a week before doing it again. I then reinstalled once more, but it came back again. I finally disabled the page file, problem gone. I would like to be able to enable it again though.

After much searching, chatting with HP for 10+ hours and consulting 2 network administrators (one being head of a large hospital) I am unable to figure it out. I have ruled out hardware, viruses, spyware, or programs (as I have not installed any the last 2 installs). I has to be some issue between Vista and this machine as it has had 2 differnt vesions on it.

    Please help.
