i had ordered an HP pavillion dv2700t laptop with a high capacity 6-cell lithium-ion battery. after receiving the laptop, i ended up calling all different departments of HP just to make sure whether i got the high-capacity 6-cell like i ordered, or a regular 6-cell. i gave the part number printed on the battery (441243-141) but strangely no one could find it on their systems. so if there are other HP users who have a recent laptop with high-capacity 6-cell battery, is this the part number for a high-capacity 6-cell?

i have to call HP soon and let them know if i have to return the current laptop and wait for them to send me a new configured one.

Thanks a lot everyone!!! any help will go a long way. thanks a lot again.

One thing I really don't like about HP is that they don't provide enough information to satisfy their customers, us. One good example is that they don't give details about their battery capacities. Although you might be able to find the capacity of a certain HP battery by searching the Internet, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to find it on the HP website.

HP provides a high-capacity 6-cell battery when a customer customizes his or her notebook, but it doesn't sell separately. So, there's no information as far as I know. One way I can suggest is to find the product number of your battery if it has somewhere. Then, check whether it is EV088AA (product number of a standard 6-cell battery for the dv2000 series - http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/notebook/notebook_hp/batteries/1/accessories/EV088AA). If it is EV088AA, then it is likely that your battery is a standard 6-cell battery. If not, your battery is likely to be a high-capacity 6-cell battery.

I might be wrong, so wait until some people reply! Have a wonderful day!
