    Hello,

I searched on HP's site prior to posting but no luck. I saw that in customizing a new DV6000 it is possible to get a 6-cell batt that has 16% extra life. While this is not more than my existing one, my current batt blows and can't stay for an hour after full charge and with medium bright screen...

I don't want a 12-cell as it is too buulky (they should have had an 8- or 9- option IMO).

If anyone has the part number or knows where I can source this it owuld be much appreciated.

    Best,
    msindi

Yea, I also think that's just the high capacity 6 cell.

Gotta love HP. They only want $180 for that from PartSurfer -- what a steal!

Compare that to $129 and $149 for the regular 6-cel and 12-cel (before discounts) on the regular HP site. I would like one of those new batteries too--but that's just too much, especially since I don't think you can get APP or other discounts from the PartSurfer site. Hopefully they'll knock it down to $139 when they put it on the regular site, so it fits between the other 2 as it should. Then apply some discounts, and...

If you have a preinstalled Vista installation, battery check is already there:

Go to C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Battery Check and run "HPBC.exe".

If you installed Vista, installing HP Active Support for Vista installs the battery check to the same location. You can grab the latest version here .
