Just noticed that dv5t went down 50 bucks, and another 50 dollars for the graphics card, so I was wondering is it possible to call them and have them refund $100? BTW still under the 21 day policy etc, wondering if anyone had done this.

Are you still able to get a refund if you used the $500 off coupon?

They have a 21 day price matching policy, I believe. You should call and ask if you can be reimbursed for the price drop. If you can, great! If not, then just say nevermind and hang up. :)

    $100 is worth a try :)

I spoke to a customer service rep through their online chat a little bit ago. She said that they should be able to give me back $100, however the price protection policy starts upon receiving the laptop. So, those of us waiting on it to be shipped should just call once we have it.

Well...I just called to document the price reduction and was told that they will not be reducing the price since I used the $500.00 coupon. Not very pleased...might want to return it just on the principle of it all and wait for the November sales for a laptop.

If the $500 coupon is still active, I'd fight for the refund. If the coupon is no longer available, then yes HP is right that a price reduction isn't doable.

The coupon is no longer valid...but it will be only a matter of time before other coupons show up especially during the upcoming shopping season. For me, the notebook is just a toy so I'm in no hurry. Arguably, the $500 is more like a $400 coupon as it was not stackable on top of the $100 instant rebate that everyone gets.

What gets me is their cavalier attitude and they told me to return it after the 21 day periord. That must affect their bottom line...what do they do with all the returns?
