I just completed a clean install but I could not create any new partitions while installing vista. I could wipe out all the old ones and reform to one large partition which I did. When I finished, using Vista's disk management I created free space, all I could create was 90 gb on 320 gb HD. I then formated it to a new partition. I wanted more than 90gb since this is where I store date, video, etc. I cannot find a way to increase space on this partition? Thinking I made a mistake, I tried to reload vista and when I got to the partition part, the option for "new" is not available. Any Suggestion on how to increase space on this partition???? Thanks

I can't comment on why Vista's Disk management is seemingly not doing what you want (a lot of people have the same issues as you) you could try a 3rd party product such as Acronis Disk Director Suite. It is a fully functional product with a 15 day free trial.
Edit: Oh Cr_p, yea fully functonal with limitations as to partition size, oh well, I tried. I have the retail program and it works quite well but I have only used it once (kind of expensive for a 1 time use).

Although I have never used it a lot of people have had good experiences with the Gparted Live CD for resizing partitions. It is free. An article with a link to downloading the ISO is provided here:

I did another Vista clean install and deleted the "D" drive and left is free space. After the install, I was able to get another 50gb of space out of the C drive. So now I have to equal partitions. I can't figure it out. I did order a partition software yesterday.
