    Hello Forum,

Yesterday I purchased Hp Pavilion DV6. But now I came to know that there is dv6t and others. How would I know whether I am only DV6 or DV6t or...

Please help me with it. On the screen of the laptop it's only mentioned DV6.

dv6t means it has an Intel processor. dv6z means it has an AMD processor. The screens of all dv6's only say "dv6" regardless of the processor. What really matters is if it's a "special edition" (SE) or not. Again, that will not be indicated on the screen. The SE has a thumbprint reader and an optional touchscreen. Otherwise, the two are very similar.

    Thanks Man,

    Mine is dv6t then.

What about the rest of the no's like dv6t-1030 etc... How would I know that because when I go to the hp site and try to download the drivers for the specific model that I have it is asking for these additional no's.

Can you please help me in finding that as well..

The exact model is in a sticker, either in the bottom of your laptop or under battery.

HP uses two kinds of model numbers.
    dv6-3131so (XD560EA)
    dv6-3136eo (XD559EA)

First model is the one you see in advertisements and people talk about them. Second is the one usually used behind the scenes: internally, wholesale etc.

    Thanks KLF,

I remove my battery and saw the model no dv6-3190ee.

The problem is if I go to hp softwares and drivers, I couldn't find this product... they only mention till 3100 and then 3200..

It's ok...everyone is like at start, no one really born as one hehe :p

Yeah, I'm using the same class as yours. So pretty much most of the drivers I used, would also work on yours if existed.

Selected 520 over 460 for the AES hardware instruction set

    Thanks Falco,

I purchased it on 1300$ in Pakistan.. Is it worth the price... I didnt saw any review on notebookcheck.net and any where else..

I heard in my country, people are complaining of the keyboard gets damage after a few months and also the battery life is 50 Minutes when on load and in general only a couple of hours..
also the battery damages after a few months..

Can you please give me an honest review over it..

I am feeling as my choice was bad..
