Hi guys.
I recently had to re-install my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS to it's original factory state due to a corrupt explorer.exe after trying to install a Windows 7 Shell Theme.
But the main concern I have now is that my BIOS may have become corrupt during the process of re-formatting my HDD and re-installing Windows 7. The reason I have that concern is because of the following reason(s):
- When I tried to roll back to F.02 (from F.12), it says " Roll back of System BIOS failed verification" (or something equivalent to that)
- When updating the BIOS it says "Failed reading System BIOS Image" (or something equivalent to that)
I did both those things AFTER re-installing my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.
So can I ask, should the BIOS usually roll back to the version that I got with the system from the first day after re-installing Windows 7 or should the BIOS remain updated after doing that?
Notes:
- I used HP Recovery Manager to re-install Windows 7
- I had to use the Factory Image TWICE because the first time it couldn't find the Windows Partition for some strange reason
All help that will be given would be very much appreciated. So please help me as I still need to learn more of these kind of things.
Thank you very much!![]()

Hi zuvieltext. Thanks for the reply!
I actually found that out yesterday that my HP_TOOLS (H:/) was missing from my Drive list on "Computer".That was after I found out that I had an out-dated UEFI (HP Support Assistant did NOT detect it as soon as Windows 7 was re-installed). So the message that comes up now on the BIOS Update section of the UEFI is "BIOS Update Not Available" which I believe means that there is no newer version of the BIOS. But when I try rolling back, it still says "Rollback of System BIOS Verification Failed".
But I think it's because since I re-installed my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, it deleted the old BIOS file.
Thanks for your help! It is much appreciated.
