I've been having some trouble lately with latency, it has become a real issue, I get often sound drops, u know, the usual stuff:

This is after a couple of seconds:

Has anyone encountered this problem before on a DV7? Also, I have disabled the usual suspects, but to no avail. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

What executables were working and what you were doing in laptop when that happened? it could be anything if for example you were copying to an external disk if the computer is doing nothing might mean some issue in that area. It just depends.

I was doing nothing, only the checker was running...and also Chrome...I have been checking and sometimes it does not kick in that bad...but it is still over 40k...I will try uninstalling Chrome and re-running the checker.

You don't need to uninstall chrome. Just turn it off.

I haven't had DPC issues -that- bad... but I am having sound stuttering issues, and I have seen DPC values that are extremely high. I have never had to check this out on any system previously -- are IDTs sound drivers that poor?

I'm still getting the high latency...seems chrome was not the culprit. Will try to install another driver of IDT sound...let's see where that takes me...
