I recently purchased a DV1000t with a 60GB harddrive. However, I feel like the HD that came from HP is pretty loud which I really dislike :( . I'd like to upgrade to 80GB, fast and QUIET one :D , but I don't know which one I should get. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Also, how difficult is it to replace the HD?

    Thank u!

Hitachi and Seagate make excellent notebook hard drives. An 80GB hard drive would cost about $150, at least. Hitachi makes the Travelstar line of notebook hard drives, while Seagate makes the Momentus line. Both are excellent.

It isn't too difficult to replace a hard drive. Your laptop should have some sort of guide on how to replace components. Basically the process is:

Unscrew lid, remove old hard drive from panel (this involves more unscrewing), pop in new hard drive, tighten the screws, and replace the lid.

Then boot up with the Windows XP CD. Then you will have to format hard drive and install Windows XP on your hard drive, a fairly straightforward process.
