For some reason at 7:00 PM (verified by the event viewer) my Pavilion DV9535nr starts up automatically. I was wondering if someone else had the same issue or knew how to solve it. I disabled all the programs that start up themselves in the Task Scheduler. But something keeps triggering it to come on...

Anyways I did a FRESH reload of Vista Ultimate and here's my specs..

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme T7800 2.6 GHz
    Memory: 2GB
Video: NVidia GeForce 8600M GS (256MB)

If you need anything else let me know. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Make sure that Windows doesn't have the defragger set to run at 7.

Off topic but you upgraded your processor to an extreme did hp say anything? And is it possible to get an extreme that uses the old socket M for my DV6000T? And to point out one time I slid my hand over the qickplay buttons and it fired off.

Extreme's use socket P. It voids your warranty when you upgrade the processor.

Thanks for the quick responses, yup upgrading the processor DOES void the warranty. But my dad happened to get the processor for free so we decided to give it a try, anyways that’s off topic...

I turned disk defrag scheduler off, I think task scheduler was handling that too.. Again, thanks for the responses, we'll have to see if it comes on tomorrow :)

Stop hijacking threads and start your own in the appropriate forum. Touching your CPU will void the warranty.

i had the same thing with a dv6238ea I'd come in in the morning and it would be running full eplt. I have no idea why! I find that when I shut the lid (it's set to hibernate) it tends to stay running and not turn itself off properly. Very very annoying cause it runs the battery down.
