Anyone know when the dv4 may come stateside? It is released in India, and it pairs a 6750M with SB in a 14 inch form factor. M14x compertitor or what? I think it would be a perfect laptop for me, I just don't know when it will come here. Thanks!

No one knows when or if it will come here

I thought so. I hope it comes here soon.

HP is currently having a sale on the dm4, a free upgrade to 6GB of RAM and they removed the integrated graphics option, and there is a 25% off coupon. Don't know if it means anything but maybe they are readying the dv4?
-
Posibly. I'll be purchasing a laptop soon, and if the price is right, this would be it.

DV4 owner here from Malaysia. Purchased this laptop from a distributor at around USD800

Hp announced the dv4 in the U.S. today with a release date of May 18th. According to Notebookcheck, it will feature AMD graphics options. I don't know if it will be the 6750 like in other countries. though. It wouldn't make a lot of sense because it is supposed to be the budget alternative to the dm4 but you never know. It will also have a backlit keyboard

Good news. I hope the keep the 6750 graphics card in the DV4.
-
Does the dv4 feature swtichable graphics?
-
-
I really want to see if there is the option for the 6750, it could be actually my next computer... -

HP also says that the dv4 features the newest AMD processors. Wonder if that means Llano?
Edit: Link that shows optional backlit keyboard

I don't see the AMD mentioned in that link. What?
Or did HP edit it? -

It mentions AMD here

Tomorrow's the 18th. You guys think that HP is going to make it?
-
abaddon4180 Notebook Virtuoso
Probably. HP is usually pretty good about their release dates once they set them
-
I think they will. They already released it elsewhere, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
-
It's out, but not 6750m. Disappointing. There's no AMD version either, so I'm hoping that they'll add it later.
-
Looks nice, I like the blue. I specced one nicely loaded for ~$830. I paid a little more for my two year old dv4t.
Apart from graphics card option, what's the difference over the dm4x? Seems a bit redundant to have two 14" models so close, especially with revised Envy models on the way. -
wow, with only integrated graphics in the DV4 for the US I'm not really seeing the point of it versus the dm4 which is only marginally more expensive for a lot more hardware power. Major fail IMO.

I think it's amusing that the dv4 the rest of the world gets is a power house compared to the budget crap filled one we are getting in the US.

It is weird because the product demo says that it has Radeon graphics options.
-
I think they're going to add it some time later.. Otherwise there would seem to be no point in having 4 14" laptops in their lineup.
-
this is bs, why would they release this thing with out an i7 option and most upsetting NO USB 3.0 ...
what is this 2009?
Pavilion dv4 is US?
