    I need help deciding between the dv4000 or the V4000. I know both systems are pretty much idntical. But I was wondering if I can upgrade the graphics card to something like the nVidia 6800 Go in either one. And if i even needed to do that to run games like World of Warcraft and Doom III.

    Specs:

    V4000:

    Operating System:
    XP Professional

    Processor:
    Pentium M Processor 760 (2.0 GHz)

    Display:
    15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)

    Graphics Card:
    Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 900 - Pentium

    Memory:
    1.0GB DDR SDRAM (2x512MB)

    Hard Drive:
    80 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive

    Total=$1,857.97

    dv4000:

    Operating System:
    XP Professional

    Processor:
    Intel Pentium M Processor 770 (2.13 GHz)

    Display:
    15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen

    Graphics Card:
    Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 900

    Memory:
    1.0GB DDR SDRAM (2x512MB)

    Hard Drive:
    80 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive

    Total=$1,857.97

    General usage for both systems: Word Proccessing, AutoCad, Photoshop, Movie playback. Need to be able to multi task.

    Of course you should get the DV1000, both cost the same yet the DV1000 comes with a faster processor, Quickplay, a remote and earbuds.

    You cannot upgrade the graphics, your computer will be able to multitask and run everything but I'm not sure about Autocad.

    So would the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 be sufficent in running 3D games?, such as WoW and Doom3?

    Yes but nothing too great. Don't expect a good fps and good resolution :(

    Forget about Doom 3, my desktop has the same graphics chip and it runs horribly even on the lowest settings and resolution.

    After going through the agony of being confused between dv1000 and v2000, I went for dv1000.Its performance is better than v series.

    Go for the dv4000. I had both a Compaq v4005cl and HP dv4155cl for comparison (thanks, Costco!) and liked the HP better. More solid keyboard, 6-1 media card reader and the screen quality was better - whites were noticeably whiter. And go with Centrino if you can - the Compaq had a Celeron 1.3 and the fan was noticable and battery < 2 hrs. The HP has a Pentium M 1.6 Centrino, quieter and almost 3 hrs off battery.
