Does anyone have or know anything about the dv6-1268nr that Newegg is selling for $800. I am looking for an affordable, pre-built laptop to replace my busted Studio 1555 and this really caught my eye. The only thing that is holding me back right now is I have some experience with AMD processors and they tend to have heat issues. The reviews on Newegg also say this but they don't seem like expert reviews.

P.S. - The only reason I created a new topic is because the dv6 thread has basically been dead since the HDX 16 came out.

I had the exact model for five days but returned it due to poor battery life and two (small but irritating) specks on the LCD. The ATI 4650 graphics are great and the build quality is very good. But, with the cheap 6-cell that H-P ships with it, battery life was around 1:45 with the LCD around 70% and wi-fi turned on. The LED LCD is very nice though - one of best I have seen. You can get a very similar system from Amazon, albeit with some goofy decoration on it, for $799 (DV6-1260SE). The system from Amazon has a slightly faster proc, a 12-cell battery and Bluetooth.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to go with the one from Amazon instead.
