Bought myself a Pavilion dv6 a couple of weeks ago and would love it (very good specs for the price) if it wasn't for the screen, the worst LCD I've ever seen: colors are incredibly washed out, color dithering is very apparent, any noise in pictures or video is magnified (I can see macroblocking and noise in HD videos that look fine on my old laptops' screens) and as soon as I move my head up or down picture quality takes a further nosedive.
Is there anything I can do (maybe via the GPU drivers, I have a Radeon 5650) to improve the situation?

This is truly an amazing laptop, but it does have a garbage screen. It was almost impossiable for me to use photoshop, as non of the colors matched what was presented on the screen.

I used the color/contrast/brightness settings on both Intel and AMD card to punch up the contrast and create better tones. Its OK... but if you move your head .00001 inches you still get nasty color shift.

    Complete ....

I have a similar problem. I opted for the high end DV6. Red hues are completely washed out. Tech support suggests reinstalling the operating system. Thanks - 10 hours of software to reinstall. If that doesn't work, they would replace some boards - likely the mother board. So, in short, they are quessing and don't read forums like this one.
