    Hello everyone!
I am in desperate need of parts 639398, 639399 and 639400 (in brown) for my 6199sl: I'm in Italy and, try as I might, there are ZERO resellers fr them. I queried HP which offered a full repair for a whooping 450€, basically the price of a low range notebook. No dice, HP.

I am getting a headache from all the searching: does someone know a reputable, trustworthy seller of new (not refurbished unless there are no other oprions) spares?
    Thanks in advance.

When looking for parts, I start by doing a Google search of the part number. For instance, Google "HP 639398-001" and a bunch of resellers including those on eBay come up.

Another place I may rely on is PCHub: Laptop part - World No.1 stockist

    EET Europarts

They don't usually sell directly to end users: you need to be friends with some local repair shop that would buy them for you. Not all parts show in their system, so a phone call and some waiting is needed too.

I think I already visited PCHub, but was turned down by the fact all the parts they're offering are "used", which I assume entails scratches, scuffs and God knows what. I also found another (chinese) seller on Amazon, which claims to have all the parts I need, especially the backplate: hope it's trustworthy...

I can do that, although I also am legally a "small business" so there shouldn' be any problems. What leaves me baffled is that they are offering the EXACT same prices HP asked me. Hell, 300€ just for the backplate? Not for a laptop that is already three years old and struggling with IDA and ACQKnowledge, thanks.

You need to be registered reseller/customer on that site to see actual prices.
Still, some prices there are high (rare parts with low stock left) and some are competitive. I think prices differ by customer/volume too but I'm not 100% sure of that. All I know is that we use it a lot :)
