    hi there, everyone.
well, i was thinking a bit about my current notebook from the title, and i decided that i have no money to replace it right now, but i do have just enough to buy a new processor, because i need more processing power for what i'm doing. and i need your advices.

i would like to upgrade to intel core2quad q9100, of course, because it's a beast compared to what i have in there now. but i am not sure if that is smart. here is the service guide

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01689926.pdf

in which q9100 is listed as supported cpu. but, as for now, in my model there are 4 gigs of 1333 ddr3 ram (2x2gb) but system bus is on 800MHz. that is because core2duo T6600 is in there with 800MHz FSB. and q9100 has 1066MHz FSB. so i'm sure that system would be much more usable with 1066 system bus frequency, but i am not sure is my motherboard compatible with that speed? also, q9100 works on 45 watts, while t6600 works on 35. would that cause some cooling problems? ATI HD4650 1GB VDDR3 and CPU are on the same heatpipe, laptop has one fan. and after all, how would my insyde bios react to cpu change? voltages are different, T6600 1.00 to 1.250V and q9100 1.050 to 1.175V.

If q9100 isn't a good decision, which one would be? q9000, t9800, t9550, p8700 or p8600? i need the best cpu i can fit in there without having overheating problems and any other bios/compatibility problems. These CPU's are listed in the service manual but that doesn't neccessarily mean everything will be fine. i prefer to hear some opinions.

Sorry for a bit longer post and thank you all very much in advance! :)

true, but he had it factory installed, set up with 1066 FSB... that's the most confusing unclarity to me, i don't know if my modbo can handle 1066 since it is 800 at the moment..
