I think I remember reading that HDMI output was only put on HD-DVD equipped models in the dv9500 series.
I`m ready to take the plunge and order the new dv9700t, but I want to make sure it's going to have an HDMI output even tho I'll stick with the regular dvd/rw.
Thanks alot

So nobody has ordered theirs w/o the HD-DVD player that can confirm?

The HDMI output is on all the models that have a Nvidia graphics card (It doesn't come on the integrated graphics card). You don't need to order the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray to get the HDMI output.

Like envision said if it has a nvidia card it wil have the hdmi

My dv9700t has hdmi with the 8600M GS card
-
yeah the HDMI feature is not dependent on whether or not you order a next-gen drive because it is part of the gfx card

I've got HDMI with only a Lightscribe drive. My graphics card is a 512MB NVIDIA 8600M if that helps.

Sory diddn't realize I was hijacking I am brand new & thought since this was very similar to my problem that it would be ok. I will be very carefull not to Hijack in the future though.

As stated before you do not need a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray drive to get the HDMI output port. The only time you will not have the HDMI port is if you get the integrated graphics card and not the dedicated graphics card(nvidia cards).

It's also good to know that with a cheap converter cable, the HDMI port works as a DVI port, so if you have an LCD monitor, you should get the cable to get the best quality out of your monitor.
