    On HP pavilion notebooks with two factory installed hard drives, do both run constantly?

    No. They run as often as they need to.

    Mianly the C drive on my laptop runs but the 2nd hard Drive is barely used

    If you put your swap onto the second drive they'll both run more often for sure. :p

    Only the pavilion dv9000 have dual hard drives and only the drive where your OS is installed will run.

    ...Providing that the other drive is empty, but if you store music on it and play it from that drive, then yes they both be at work
