    Hi all,

I have found that my Pavilion DV2535EA loads really slowly when first going into Vista. As such I am trying to cut out some of the programs which automatically run at startup, so far I have removed things like Adobe Reader, Itunes and Quicktime but I am unsure of what else I can remove.

Below is a list of the programs that currently run on startup which I do not specifically know I need. Could you please let me know which of these is ok to disable? Also is it normal to have the Microsoft Host Process in the list four times?

    Bluetooth Software
    Microsoft Media Center Tray Applet
    Microsoft Userinit Logon Application
    Microsoft Windows Explorer
    Microsoft Windows Host Process
    Microsoft Windows Host Process
    Microsoft Windows Host Process
    Microsoft Windows Host Process
    Microsoft Windows Sidebar
    Windows Defender
    Intel RAID event monitor
    HP Wireless Assistant – WIFI
    HP Wireless Assistant – Bluetooth

    Thanks for any help

Search on HP Bloatware and you'll find prior discussions and suggestions.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response, however I am not really asking specifically about bloatware. I have already uninstalled the bloatware on my system, what I am most interested in is which of the Windows startup processes that I mentioned can be disabled. Specifically the Microsoft Windows Host Process as it is there four times and seems to run the same exe.

    Thanks

And there's always this page on the HP website, too.
