    Pavillion dv9500t 5.1 audio through HDMI?

    I am trying to run 5.1 DD to my reciever via HDMI/TV/Toslink/Reciever. It looks like my pc only outputs 2 channel pcm am I missing something here?

    i did some reseach and they said you need to buy an external sound card and plug it into the usb port
