Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this. If I have posted this in the wrong section please let me know.
I was recently given a laptop pc as a present. The prior owner knows little to nothing about computers and bought it from a sales person at Best Buy a while back having been told it was the latest thing. It is the HP Paviolion Touchsmart Tablet Laptop ( tx2000 or tx2500 ). Outside on the case near to the screen it says the number is tx2000, but when I look in Control Panel > System > General it says the system is tx2500. How can it be both? Does this mean the laptop was tampered with at some point? How can I find out which model it really is? I'm looking to do some upgrades but need to know the model number.
Thank you for taking the time to read my question. Any replies would be a great help.

No, thats how all tx2500's are labeled. The tx2500 is just an update to the tx2000 series hence the half number update.
Its a tx2500 if you have the ATi graphics+Turion ZM, RM or Athlon QL cpu's and the model number is either a tx2500 or greater. Its a tx2000 series if it has Nvidia hardware+Turion TL or Athlon TKseries cpu and the model numbers are in between tx2000 & tx2499.
BTW, the tx2500(or tx2000) are not touchsmart but rather regular Pavilions only the tx2(tx2z) are branded touchsmarts. -
Thank you for helping to clarify things! And my mistake about calling it the touchsmart.

Is there a dedicated thread for this model laptop?
I have a tx2510us with an ATi graphics card. I'm looking for information on how to adjust the screen display, to try and get more contrast and richer colors.
Please advise if there is a better place to post this question, or an appropriate FAQ section.
Thanks
